This shoot was all about celebrating what we love, whether thats each other, our pets, preferred colours or favourite drink. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600021401.jpg" style="width: 50%;"></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">In this <a href="https://www.crzybest.co.uk/" target="_blank">CRZyBest</a> collaboration we included many of the things that personify my business, a loving couple, my business doggo Barley the Jack Russell, bright pink, stars and my love of tasty beer. I wanted this shoot to be authentic and show off the things that mean something, not just passing colour trends and themes, but things we love! I think that couples starting off on a planning journey for their own special day, no matter how big or small, should all have the confidence to go with what they want, to be able to express their love for life, whether thats including their pet cat in the ceremony or encouraging everyone to toast them with their favourite drink, not whatever someone else thinks they should have because of tradition! Putting together a styled shoot in the current climate meant we needed an awesome real couple, the commitment of some amazing suppliers and a fantastic venue, we were lucky enough to have all of these things and more! In a similar way to organising a wedding, the couple, venue and photographer were the priority to organise first, making sure that everyone would be available on the same date. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600021480.jpg" style="width: 100%;"></p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600021545.jpg" style="width: 100%;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Our wonderful ecofriendly venue <a href="https://parkfarmhouse.co.uk/" target="_blank">Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel</a> were very accommodating, as they were pretty quiet on site due to so many weddings postponing because of the 2020 restrictions. Although they were embracing the opportunity to make lots of wonderful enhancements too, of which we made sure we photographed some of during our shoot! Bringing me neatly to introducing the most marvellously fun wedding photographer Kirsty Rockett, of <a href="https://kirstyrockett.com/" target="_blank">Kirsty Rockett photography</a>. Kirsty was the ideal person to photograph our shoot, as we had gotten on so well together during previous occasions and she knows exactly how to capture the best moments and tiniest of details. For couples booking a photographer, it is important that you get on well with the person or people capturing your special day, engagement shoots can be a great opportunity to help you out with this decision. Your perfect photographer will make you feel at ease and capture some of the greatest moments! </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600021603.jpg" style="width: 50%;"></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Having the most fantastically in love couple for our shoot was especially important, Meg and Cole were only too happy to fill this role, saying that they would both be honoured to be part of our collaboration, so much so that I feel it only right to let you know exactly how each of them felt about taking such an important role in our shoot. Cole said Theres plenty of things you could write about us both as individuals and as a couple. I find this shoot very exciting! Not only because Im having a fake wedding with my girlfriend but also because of how acceptable couples like myself and Meg are becoming. Together, we break a lot of societies expectations and boundaries. Im a trans Male and shes a very expressive young girl who is obsessed with alternative trends, music & activities. Both of us, a powerful female who speaks out on what she feels like and an openly trans Male activist, were all once looked down on in society, in fact, we still are. The difference is that marriage for couples like us wasnt once even thought of, but now its becoming a lot more acceptable and approachable. Were an alternative couple, just like your wedding themes, but were also in love and that should be the part people focus on! In Megs words We are both very unique individuals, who as one couple become the perfect pair. We both love similar things such as exploring new places, trying new food and making every single day memorable. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600021662.jpg" style="width: 100%;"></p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600021693.jpg" style="width: 100%;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">This shoot really makes me believe in change and that a couple like Cole and I, are becoming more accepted in society. I think as a community we need to break barriers and change the worlds way of thinking into something with endless possibilities. There have been hard times through our journey but there have been amazing ones too, and with people like Claire who help put these things out there the hard times will eventually be a memory of the past. With society only just starting to gingerly dip a toe out of Lockdown, having <a href="https://www.mazzloxton.com/" target="_blank">Mazz Loxton</a> a talented hair and make-up artist helped with our planning, as it was always in the balance as to whether she would be able to fully take part and decisions were continuously changing. As it was rules changed at the last minute and Meg had to do her own make-up, she did a great job and shows that if youd prefer to do your own wedding make-up then go for it, if you need a bit of confidence in your skills, perhaps find a lovely make-up artist that could give you some tips or a few lessons before your special day. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600021747.jpg" style="width: 50%;"></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Mazz was able to do Megs hair most beautifully using a CRZyBest copper hop leaf, hair vine and even went on to make both Karen, our celebrant and Rebecca, our Harpists hair look spectacular too! With a bit of forward planning you can have the most simple or elaborate bespoke hair accessories created especially for you, before the shoot Rebecca asked if I could make something for her hair too, so I created a tie in, hair piece, created from plaited vegan leather and tiny bronze bee sculptures. Rebecca also wore a pair of CRZyBest star earrings and matching necklace, which complemented the stunning star scattered cape created by Bex of <a href="https://www.eclecticbrides.co.uk/" target="_blank">Bexbrides</a>. Karen wore a set silver hop leaf jewellery, consisting of earring, necklace and even a silver lapel pin, which looked great on her colourful dress. Karens shoes, were hand painted by Lou from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/inannabespokeshoes/" target="_blank">Inanna Bespoke Shoes</a> and it was as if Lou had known what she was going to be wearing! Lou also painted the most amazing pair of shoes for Meg to wear, which were covered in pink stars, with hops swirling around the back above the glitter coated heels. These shoes looked totally amazing peeking from beneath the dress that Bex had created especially for the day. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600022067.jpg" style="width: 100%;"></p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600022129.jpg" style="width: 100%;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Bex is passionate about bringing her clients visions to life and with pink stars, sparkles and tassels, Megs dress had so much movement it really came alive during the day, check out those veil shots by Kirsty and the most amazing Video created by Adele from <a href="https://flyonthewallphotography.co.uk/" target="_blank">Fly on the Wall Photography</a>. When Adele says that she is passionate about unposed, natural photography and capturing the real moments, she really means it. So, make sure that if you get a few minutes, you check out the videos that Adele created of this epic shoot, I promise that they will make you smile and they may even make you cry! </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600022298.jpg" style="width: 50%;"></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Starring in those videos and the whole shoot alongside Meg, was Cole, wearing an amazing suit provided by Jaqueline from <a href="https://www.masterdebonair.com/" target="_blank">Master Debonair</a>, with tiny pink lines amongst the checks, matching his hand painted brogues, also by Lou. Meg and Cole walked down the aisle to Rebeccas mesmerizing harp music, which worked perfectly in the cosy setting of the Hitching Room and Im so glad I chose this wonderful room over the huge space of the amazing Barn which is also an option for ceremonies at Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel and hopefully with Wedding laws coming under review soon, possibilities will be broadened even further! Karen of <a href="https://www.standoutceremonies.co.uk/" target="_blank">Stand Out Ceremonies</a>, created the most totally awesome beer blending ceremony for our shoot and she actually offers this as an option to couples looking for their own way to have personalised unique ceremonies. For this occasion, we chose beers from Brass Castle brewery as all their beer is gluten free and vegan, so accessible to a wider range of people or preferences. Both light and dark beers were needed, to represent the qualities that each person brings to the marriage, we chose Sunshine IPA and Bad Kitty for Meg and Cole to blend and share in this tasty ceremony. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600022527.jpg" style="width: 100%;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">This was followed by a handfasting using ivy and rosemary, symbolising the couple's commitment to loyalty and fidelity, entwined with a vine of symbolic semi-precious stones, pink agate stars, handmade copper initials and a tiny copper handcrafted doggo charm of their precious pooch. Barley the cutest Jack Russell, was also the VIP to witness their humanist wedding certificate with a paw print, he looked very smart in his own bespoke bandana hand painted by Sally from <a href="https://www.aylinwhitedesigns.com/" target="_blank">Aylin White Designs</a>! For this tasty beer sharing ceremony Bethan from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/finishingflourishes/" target="_blank">Finishing Flourishes</a> set up the most eclectic moon gate, draped in real hops, pink lanterns and stars, all finished off with a Cheers to set the mood. All the detail that went into this amazing pink stars and hops, backdrop created the perfect setting for the handfasting complete with all its symbolism. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600022709.jpg" style="width: 100%;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">How well this all worked together, just goes to show that you can mix up and mash up as many ideas as you want for your big day, after all, with your love and some great suppliers, any ideas will work, no matter how crazy other people may think they are, those ideas are yours, embrace your wild side and go with whatever you want! Tables were assigned in the unusually set out pig sties at Donington Park Farmhouse, using the personalised table plan created by Emily from <a href="https://www.bluebellpress.co.uk/" target="_blank">Bluebell Press</a>. With big pink stars hanging above the hop laden tables and the table names labels on bottles of beer, inspired by favourite breweries, these details ensured that the love of pink beer and stars ran throughout the dcor. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600022844.jpg" style="width: 100%;"></p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600022915.jpg" style="width: 100%;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Copper hop leaves and pink stars decorated the tables and nestled amongst the hops; beer was definitely being shown the love. Meg and Cole toasted each other with Pink Beer from Timmermans and shared star shaped biscuits made by Lisa from <a href="https://www.urbancakehouse.com/" target="_blank">Urban Cakehouse</a>, who also created the most amazing pink starry cake, which was surrounded by a swirl of real hops. They cut the cake underneath an awesome hop cloud twinkling with pink fairy lights. Having been challenged to create a cake with hot pink, copper, stars, beer and hops, Lisa had to work out how to fit all of that into a cake creation. She wanted the cake to reflect the current times and with smaller weddings, comes less tiers and smaller wedding cakes. Lisa designed a two-tier cake and hand painted an abstract design in hot pink on a pure white cake, adding the cutest copper painted fondant stars and copper "stardust". To incorporate the hops, she used her copper cake spiral from Bramble Sky and attached dried hops, so they swirled around the cake and up to that amazing twinkling hop cloud. If you pick a great cake maker, then they will use all their skills to create not only the vision you want for a cake, but they also taste great too! What flavours do you think would have worked well for this shoot and what will you choose when the time comes? </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="../blogimages/394726185/1600023004.jpg" style="width: 50%;"></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Lisas biscuits were also enjoyed with a glass of pink beer outside in the fabulous court yard, where after relaxing on the grass with Barley, Meg was swirling around in her stunning Bexbrides dress, to the beautiful harp music of Rebecca. We chose not throw Megs bouquet as it can be kept forever, and was created especially and filled with symbolism. With Swarovski crystal colours inspired by pink beer and hops, mixed with tiny copper sculptures reflecting everything we have mentioned, there was not a bouquet toss, instead, make sure you check out the use of our awesome beer mat invites!
